Warm Up This Winter with Easy Mulled Wine!
Here’s a simple recipe to keep you cozy and warm this winter:
Ingredients:
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 3 Star Anise
- 4 Whole Cloves
- 4 Allspice Berries
- 1 Bottle of Wine (Merlot, Zinfandel, or any fruity/full-bodied red)
- ¼ cup of Brandy (or Orange Liqueur/Tawny Port)
- 1–2 tbsp Maple Syrup or Honey (adjust to taste)
- 2 Oranges (sliced)
- 1–2 handfuls of Cranberries
Instructions:
Toast the Spices
Add cinnamon, star anise, cloves, and allspice to a pot. Toast over medium heat for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.Add Wine & Brandy
Turn the heat to low and pour in the wine and brandy. Warm gently for 1 hour without boiling.Sweeten to Taste
Stir in maple syrup or honey, one tablespoon at a time, tasting as you go.Garnish & Serve
Add orange slices and cranberries, stir, and ladle into mugs.
