Warm Up This Winter with Easy Mulled Wine!

Here’s a simple recipe to keep you cozy and warm this winter:


Ingredients:

  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 3 Star Anise
  • 4 Whole Cloves
  • 4 Allspice Berries
  • 1 Bottle of Wine (Merlot, Zinfandel, or any fruity/full-bodied red)
  • ¼ cup of Brandy (or Orange Liqueur/Tawny Port)
  • 1–2 tbsp Maple Syrup or Honey (adjust to taste)
  • 2 Oranges (sliced)
  • 1–2 handfuls of Cranberries

Instructions:

  1. Toast the Spices
    Add cinnamon, star anise, cloves, and allspice to a pot. Toast over medium heat for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.

  2. Add Wine & Brandy
    Turn the heat to low and pour in the wine and brandy. Warm gently for 1 hour without boiling.

  3. Sweeten to Taste
    Stir in maple syrup or honey, one tablespoon at a time, tasting as you go.

  4. Garnish & Serve
    Add orange slices and cranberries, stir, and ladle into mugs.


Non-Alcoholic Option:
Swap the wine and brandy for apple cider to create a family-friendly version.
